A key element in a complicated story of
a body found on a beached boat is a candle that stands at a steep angle.
"The details of the boat grounded at low tide with a corpse in the cabin
are superbly handled, and the rest of the story—motives and characters—is both
believable and reasonably straightforward.... (It) is an absolutely first-rate
job."

THE CASE OF THE PERJURED PARROT
DOWNLOAD: THE CASE OF THE PERJURED PARROT
READ ONLINE: THE CASE OF THE PERJURED PARROT
One of Perry Mason's trademarks is his
ability, in court, to switch the physical evidence in a case. He generally does
this with guns or bullets, and it confuses the jury, to his client's advantage.
In this case, Perry offers a coroner's inquest two parrots, one of which swore
like a muleskinner and was found near the body of a millionaire hermit who had
been murdered. "This early Perry Mason
is uncommonly full of detection, and the games played in it with parrots do not
detract from plausibility. Denouement not huddled--all in all, a model in his
special genre.] In the television production of
"The Case of the Perjured Parrot," the parrot was voiced by Mel Blanc.

AMAR CHITRA KATHA - BUDDHA
In the area on the present border of India and Nepal, there was a small kingdom in the 6th century before the Common Era. When the prince was born, fortune- tellers forecast that he would be either a great king or a great saint. The king took every care to keep him in a life of pleasure so he would become king, not saint. The prince grew to be a strong, handsome youth. Yet he was kind; he saved a bird struck by his cousin's arrow and so claimed the bird as his.
One day, on a ride outside the palace through the city, he saw a sick, an old and a dead man. Their sight opened his eyes to the suffering in the world and set him thinking. One night, he left his wife, newborn son and the palace and went in search of knowledge to end suffering in the world.
He traveled far and wide and went through many austerities but realized that, sorrow can be ended, not by starving t he body but by freeing oneself from desire. He set out teaching this. People called him Buddha ('the Enlightened'). He started preaching against animal sacrifice as the means to satisfy desires. Soon commoners and kings alike started listening to him. There were detractors too, but he came out unharmed through all their evil designs. Back to his town during his travels, he finally won over his own family to his teachings.

Why are good communication skills important for students?
Communication is a vital part of life. Be it your interviews, debate competition or just a casual interaction with your friends, good communication skills indeed matter. A person may not communicate effectively if he does not have good communication skills.
In a student life communication skills are indeed important. After completing your education when you apply for jobs, the first thing that an interviewer does is observing your communication ability.
Communication process includes good reading, writing, speaking and listening skills. Here are some of the important reasons why you should work out on your communication skills:
To crack an interview and get a job As mentioned earlier, good communication will matter a lot when you go for an interview. And, if only if you manage to crack the interview, you will stand the chances of getting your dream job. So, while preparing for your dream job, do not forget to brush up your communication skills. It is very very important.
To prove your point
In order to prove your point you need to communicate. Even when you are giving answers to your teacher, you need to justify your answer and for that you need to communicate well.
Extracurricular activities
The ability to communicate effectively is a boon for the students. If you are interested in participating in debates and panel discussions, you will definitely need effective communication skills. If can’t communicate you should better stay away from debates or brush up your skills. We believe the latter is the better idea.
Exams
Communication is not just limited to speaking or having a conversation, it also involves writing and listening. And if you can write well, then it will definitely help in your exams. Mugging up the portion will not help always. You need to understand things and have the ability of putting things in your own words.
How can you brush up your communication skills?
The best way to brush up your communication skills is to read a lot. The reading not only involves your textbook portions but also newspapers, magazines and books. In this way, you will widen your limited knowledge and also learn new words. The reading definitely helps in the long run.
Apart from reading, observation too helps. You should observe people while they are talking. How they use their body language while communicating, the confidence and so on.
Don’t forget good communication is the first ladder to success.

A POWER POINT PRESENTATION ON AFRICA
Below is one of my power point presentation on Africa
Africa boasts perhaps the world's largest combination of density and "range of freedom" of wild animal populations and diversity, with wild populations of large carnivores (such as lions, hyenas, and cheetahs) andherbivores (such as buffalo, elephants, camels, and giraffes) ranging freely on primarily open non-private plains. It is also home to a variety of "jungle" animals including snakes and primates and aquatic life such as crocodile & sand amphibians. In addition, Africa has the largest number of mega fauna species, as it was least affected by the extinction of the Pleistocene mega fauna.
Speakers of Bantu languages (part of the Niger–Congo family) are the majority in southern, central and southeast Africa. The Bantu-speaking farmers from West Africa's inland savanna progressively expanded over most of Sub-Saharan Africa.Bantu-speaking Africans also predominate in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea, and are found in parts of southern Cameroon. In the Kalahari Desert of Southern Africa, the distinct people known as the Bushmen have long been present.
